Massage Therapist – Patti Priestley
Hello, I’m Patti Priestley, Nationally Certified and Licensed Massage Therapist (SC Lic #6542) and owner of Beneficial Massage and Bodywork LLC. I’ve provided hundreds of massages for my clients over the years. Many of them see me on a regular basis: once a week, bi-monthly and monthly. Some just come on an as-needed basis. I appreciate and respect each and every one as a treasured gift. My gift as a massage therapist to each of my clients is giving them excellent customer service, individual attention, confidentiality and a safe and relaxing atmosphere to regroup, heal and relax.
My massage therapist training is in neuromuscular, trigger point release therapy, Swedish and deep tissue massage. I study new techniques and current research on a regular basis. My clients appreciate the fact that my interest in the dynamics of the human body and on-going studies are beneficial to THEM. Recently I attended training for the Myokinesthetic (MYK) system which addresses the source of chronic pain in a very fast and effective manner. Some of the most common remarks I hear after a MYK session is: “My hips haven’t felt this loose for years!” or “For the first time in 15 years I’ve gone for 24 hours with NO PAIN and slept like a baby!”
While I am certainly able to help those with pain issues, I also provide several types of massage to help my customers in need of pure stress relief and relaxation. You may come in with neck pain but have been so stressed out all week that you just need to “Zen out.” I am attentive to your needs and preferences and in that situation would use a flowing, soothing Swedish massage to ease you out of your stress and into a pure state of relaxation and then help ease the knots and tension from your aching neck while you lie in a puddle of relaxation and state of bliss.
My clients know they can trust me to be present and attentive while in session and not “day dreaming” or going through the motions. I work with focus and healing intent and enjoy seeing my clients smile with relaxed relief at the end of the session.
A typical work day for me could be working with athletes, injured clients, seniors with hip and back pain, computer users suffering from neck pain, as well as providing relief for headache sufferers, clients having TMJ problems and of course, the Mother-to-Be.
I became a massage therapist following a 25+ year career as a paralegal. After receiving a therapeutic massage it became evident to me that massage therapy is a powerful and holistic method to reduce pain, ease stress, and help speed recovery from injury. Seeing the power of massage encouraged me to become a Massage Therapist. It is exciting to be actively involved in the evolution towards holistic health and wellness. I truly enjoy helping empower people to be more proactive with their self-care.
Wishing you health and happiness above all else, Patti.
